About this policy
This Acceptable Use Policy sets out what you may and may not do when using Safeguard. It is incorporated by reference into our Terms of Service. Breaching this policy may result in suspension or termination of your account.
You must not
- Use Safeguard for any unlawful purpose, or in breach of any applicable law or regulation.
- Upload, store, or process any data you do not have a lawful basis or the right to process.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the platform, other organisations’ data, or our infrastructure.
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the service, or breach any security or authentication measures.
- Use the platform to harass, abuse, threaten, or harm any individual, including the children and young people whose data you store.
- Upload malicious code, or otherwise interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the service.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the platform, except as permitted by law.
- Resell, sublicense, or otherwise make the service available to third parties outside your organisation without our written permission.
Safeguarding data
Safeguard exists to help you protect children and young people. You must handle the data you store responsibly, grant access only to those who genuinely need it, and follow your own organisation's safeguarding policies and the law. Safeguard is a record-keeping tool — it does not replace your safeguarding responsibilities.
Reporting misuse
If you become aware of any breach of this policy, or any misuse of the platform, please contact us via our contact page so we can investigate.
Enforcement
We may investigate suspected breaches of this policy and may suspend or terminate access where we reasonably believe a breach has occurred. Where the law requires it, we will report unlawful activity to the relevant authorities.
